BIRDS AND BUILDINGS
.

Decor Selections

The discussions at the conference will focus on solutions for bird-safe structures. Interior design choices can play a significant role in countering window reflections and blocking open pathways.

ART WORK

While the fish do not fully cover the tree reflections, this does illustrate how easily art can make a building bird safe. This glass wall should be reflecting the rows of trees directly across the street. The art piece very effectively overpowers the reflection.

DRAPERY

BANNERS

While the pattern on these drapes does not counter fully the reflection of nearby trees, this does illustrate how easy it is to use window coverings for that purpose. Vinyl mesh is inexpensive and easy to use. It is especially useful for breaking the view of an open pathway.

DECALS

WALLPAPER OR WALL COVERINGS

Decals --of any shape-- can be used as a decorative solution as long as they fully obstruct the problem area (which these do not). Decals of birds are the stuff of legends and the good intentions of building owners. Any shape or form will work, but a few scattered about are useless.

The reflection of trees is lost in this wall covering.
